Remu Screening buckets for frozen and clumpy material crushing
For screening buckets, there are hundreds of different applications where they can be implemented. Remu screening buckets are known for topsoil screening, compost production, pipeline backfilling, various recycling applications, and in all applications where material separation as well as light crushing is needed. In the wintertime, the northern hemisphere is frozen, and the ground is freezing; thus, it’s difficult to process topsoil or gravel material when everything is frozen.
In recent years, European contractors have noticed that by using the Remu screening bucket’s crushing capabilities, connected to good capacity, the Remu screening bucket is an excellent tool for crushing frozen or otherwise clumpy material piles while simultaneously loading the materials. For example, when salt is stored (Pic 1 & 2), either because of the cold temperature or humidity, it becomes clumpy. These clumps can create significant problems further in the production process, as they might get stuck on the feeder belts, jam in the salt spreaders, or become difficult to mix if the salt is used as an additive in some production processes.
In the past, customers have used Remu screening buckets for crushing materials like road salt, which can freeze and become stuck in the road salting spreader, thereby interrupting the road salting process. This of course costs a lot of time and effort, and road salting contractors are always looking to enhance the reliability of their production processes.
REMU DRUM FOR EVERY APPLICATION
Remu company has been manufacturing screening buckets since 1997 and is considered a pioneer in the industry. In a Remu screening bucket, the drums are the key components when material is being processed. Therefore, due to the demands of different applications, there are various types of drums available. The most common type of drum is the screening drum (Pic 3). The screening drum is not aggressive; it separates, for example, rocks from fine soil and is excellent for screening fine topsoil. The second most common type of drum is the screening and crushing drum, which screens in one direction and crushes in the other. This is particularly useful for handling wet materials that might otherwise get stuck inside the bucket.
A new addition to Remu’s drum selection is the X-drum (Pic 4), which is an aggressive crushing and material-mixing drum. It is highly effective for processing clay-type materials, crushing clumpy materials, and mixing different materials, such as in soil stabilization and remediation projects.
Remu offers fragment sizes ranging from 10 to 100 mm and various sizes of buckets suitable for most excavators, wheel loaders, skid steers, telehandlers, tractors, and more.
